Linux (detergent)
Linux is a trademark of a heavy duty detergent from the Swiss Rösch AG, which has been produced since 2001.
This fact has often been received with amusement by the community around the Linux computer operating system of the same name . The detergent is also used as a joking comparison of why Linux is superior to all other operating systems: You can do laundry with it. The Linux heavy-duty detergent, however, involves the legal use of the Rösch AG registered trademark "Linux" for laundry and hygiene products. This use does not infringe the trademark for the Linux operating system.
The detergent manufacturer seems to have a preference for names from the computer world, so there are also a Mac oxi stain remover (see Mac OS X ) and a micro & soft fabric softener (see Microsoft ) as “accessories” for Linux .
