Lionel Zouma (born September 10, 1993 in Lyon ) is a French football player. The defender is also a national of the Central African Republic . He is currently under contract with FC Bourg-Péronnas .

Career

Lionel Zouma played for FC Vaulx-en-Velin until 2007 and then moved to the first division club FC Sochaux . At first he went through the youth teams there, in 2010 he was brought to the club's second team, and since 2011 he has also played for the first team. He made his professional debut on October 16, 2011 in a 3-0 defeat at Valenciennes FC when he came on for Carlão . He was in the squad for the first time two weeks earlier. Zouma made a total of five games during the season , three times over the full 90 minutes. In the 2012/13 season he played two games across all competitions. For the 2013/14 season he was finally appointed to the first team's squad. In 2016 he switched to the Greek first division club Asteras Tripolis . In the summer of 2018 Lionel Zouma moved to FC Bourg-Péronnas

Zouma has so far played once for the French national team, on May 25, 2012 for the U-19 team against the Czech Republic . In 2017 he was appointed to the Central African national team for the first time .

Private life

His brother Kurt Zouma , about a year younger than him, is also a professional and plays for Everton FC .
