List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN) is an online database that maintains information on the naming and taxonomy of prokaryotes in accordance with the taxonomy requirements and provisions of the International Code for the Nomenclature of Bacteria (" Bacteriological Code "). The name of the database means something like "List of prokaryotic names with their status in the nomenclature ."

The database was curated by JP Euzéby from 1997 to June 2013 and by Aidan C. Parte from July 2013. The prokaryote taxonomy (the taxonomy of archaea and bacteria ) is updated by the International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology (IJSB / IJSEM).

LPSN is hosted on gandi.net servers in Paris, France.
