List of known Pythagoreans
The list of well-known Pythagoreans includes ancient representatives of the teaching of the philosopher Pythagoras including the New Pythagoreans. The Middle Platonists and Neoplatonists admittedly revered Pythagoras and were in part considerably influenced by Pythagorean ideas, but they were mostly primarily Platonists. Of these, only a few with a particularly strong Pythagorean orientation, who are often counted among the New Pythagoreans, are listed. Not included are people about whom nothing or almost nothing is known other than the fact that they were Pythagoreans.
