The honorary citizenship is the highest honor that the Bohemian community forest can forgive.

Since 1955, the following ten people have been made honorary citizens.

They are listed chronologically according to the date of award.

The honorary citizens of the community of Wald

  1. Theresia Schricker († August 12, 1990)
    Senior teacher
    Awarded in 1955
    Schricker worked from May 1, 1930 to August 31, 1945 and from May 20, 1948 to May 1, 1961 as a teacher at the Wald elementary school. She was made an honorary citizen on the occasion of her 25th anniversary of service.
  2. Pastor Krauss († November 1980)
    Pastor
    Awarded in 1960
    Krauss worked as a pastor in the Wald community from February 1, 1941 to March 31, 1978. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his ordination, he was granted honorary citizenship.
  3. Johann Prokosch († February 7, 1982)
    Head teacher
    Awarded in 1964
    Prokosch worked for 15 years from November 1, 1949 to July 22, 1964 as a teacher at the Wald elementary school. On the occasion of his departure he was made an honorary citizen.
  4. Erwin Warta
    Rector
    Awarded in 1971
    Warta worked from August 3, 1946 to May 31, 1985 as a teacher and principal at the school in Wald. On the occasion of his 25th anniversary of service, he was made an honorary citizen.
  5. Helmut Gröninger
    Pastor
    Awarded in 1974
    Gröninger was pastor of the Süssenbach branch from 1963 to 1974 for eleven years. He received honorary citizenship on the occasion of his departure.
  6. Karl Flügel (born August 20, 1915 in Amberg, † June 1, 2004 in Mallersdorf)
    Auxiliary bishop
    Awarded in March 1979
    Wing was auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Regensburg and at the same time titular bishop of Altiburo. He lived in Wald from April 24, 1973. He received honorary citizenship for his special services to the community and its citizens.
  7. Alois Hauzenberger († November 22, 2004)

    Awarded 1983
    Hauzenberger, who comes from Roßbach, was mayor of the community from December 1969 to April 1990. During his term of office the reorganization of the community fell as part of the regional reform. Because of his great services he was made an honorary citizen. On June 9, 1990, he was also awarded the title of former mayor of the community of Wald .
  8. Josef Amberger
    Pastor
    Awarded in 1994
    Amberger was pastor in Wald from April 1, 1978 to August 31, 1995. On the occasion of his 25th jubilee as a priest, the community made him an honorary citizen.
  9. Max Gansbühler
    Entrepreneur
    Awarded in January 1997
    With the establishment of the MAC Jeans company and as a sponsor of associations and institutions, Gansbühler made great contributions to the community.
  10. Harald Grill (born July 20, 1951 in Hengersberg)

    Awarded in 2007
    In recognition of his services as a writer in Bavarian dialect and his ties to his homeland.
