The list of governors of Pernambuco gives an overview of the governors of the Brazilian state of Pernambuco .
The government and administrative history of Pernambuco began in 1544 with the Pernambuco captaincy , from which the province of Pernambuco emerged in 1821 and finally the current state in 1889.
The official seat of the civil governor is the Palácio do Campo das Princesas in Recife .
