The list of records of the Tu-144 contains the three world records that were set in 1983 with the Tupolev Tu-144 .

Record aircraft

The Tu-144D prototype №08-2 with the registration number 77114, which was flown for the first time on April 13, 1981, was used for the record flights. It was designated "Airplane 101" for FAI filing . The FAI officials were unable to correctly identify the type of record-breaking aircraft and assumed that aircraft 101 was the Tu-160 . However, due to the change in FAI rules, all records are outdated.

The №08-2 flew a total of 82 hours and 40 minutes from 1981 to 1990 and, after upgrading from November 29, 1996 to April 14, 1999, carried out a further 27 test flights under the designation Tu-144LL, during the first test phase with Kolessow- RD-36-51А engines, while the second with Kuznetsov NK-32 -1. After that, it stood without engines in the LII in Ramenskoje ( Schukowski ).

All records of this Tu-144, which never transported passengers, are held.

The Tu-160 reached these "records" on October 31, 1989 at a lower speed of 1731.40 km / h and 1678 km / h, respectively.
