June 18, 2015 | Max Bernstein was born on May 30, 1863 in Ellrich and owned a shop for manufactured goods on the corner of Lindenstrasse and Jüdenstrasse, which he ran with his wife Selma. In the night of November 9th to 10th, 1938 (" Reichskristallnacht "), the business was looted and destroyed like thousands of others and the owner himself was taken to Buchenwald concentration camp in " protective custody " , then in 1942 deported to Theresienstadt concentration camp and there on Murdered November 19 of the same year. |
