List of stumbling blocks in Norderney

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of stumbling blocks in Norderney includes all eight stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in front of four buildings in the Lower Saxony city of Norderney on February 22, 2013 . Before the laying was carried out, an information event was held in the Catholic Church of St. Ludgerus , in which Demnig and Mayor Frank Ulrichs presented the project.

Since there were other Jews living on Norderney at the time of National Socialism who were also deported, further stumbling blocks may be laid in the future so that this list is not complete.

Notes on the list

  • Image : Image of the stumbling block
  • Address : Mention the street with the house number in front of which the stumbling block was laid and the coordinates of the stumbling block with the option of displaying the position on a map
  • Date : states the date on which the stumbling block was laid
  • Person, inscription : states the name, date of birth or year of birth of the persecuted person as well as dates on deportation and (if known) on death

Note: The list is partially sortable ; the basic sorting takes place alphabetically according to the address. The Person, Inscription column is sorted alphabetically by the person's name. By clicking on a column header, the list is sorted according to this column; clicking twice reverses the sorting. Any desired combination can be achieved by clicking two columns in a row. Combined addresses indicate that several stumbling blocks have been moved in one location.
