Stumbling Stone Schnack Hans Hugo Rodenaes.jpg Location: Opposite the property "Ophusum 1" on the country road towards Zollhaus / Denmark is the entrance to a meadow.
The house that Mr. Schnack lived in used to stand here.
Since the stumbling block is embedded in the edge of the road, it was probably damaged by being driven over.
The municipality of Rodenäs is trying to improve the situation.

circumstances

Hans Hugo Schnack has been critical of National Socialism since the early 1930s and was therefore on trial as early as 1933.
The father of five was admitted to the mental hospital in Schleswig around 1942 because of "mental confusion" because he did not give any rest.
After about 2 years he fled to Switzerland, but was picked up on the Moselle and taken to the Meseritz-Obrawalde mental hospital, where he was murdered with an injection.
The administering sister and the senior physician were executed after the war for more than one hundred murders.
