Wismar weapon ring

All mandatory connections belonged to the Wismarer Waffenring (WWR):

  1. Country team Rheno-Silesia
  2. Fraternity of Silesia
  3. Corps Alemannia
  4. Country team Lituania
  5. Fraternity Hansea

Determinations were carried out between members of these connections . In every corporation three games were compulsory, one as a fox and two as a lad. By 1925, the saber with an 8-blade was introduced as a student fencing weapon . From 1926 onwards, it could also be used later. At the beginning of the summer semester of 1926 there was fighting with the racket (30-40 courses). Appointments with foreign corporations were also possible, including in Berlin. The bell striker was used . Strictly forbidden, the scales between 1930 and 1935 were held in secret. One of the restaurants was the “Red Gate” located outside of Wismar. The police never used head bandages ("wound heads") as an opportunity to investigate. Since there were only two pulp doctors in Wismar , the lengths had to be discussed in detail in the WWR.

Current situation

The Corps Alemannia was briefly active again in Wismar, but has not been there for several years. In Koblenz there is still an old man's association . The nautical comradeship Poseidon existing in Warnemünde took over the tradition of Poseidon , founded in Wustrow in 1908, in 1991. The comradeship appears again and again in Wismar, but does not originally belong to Wismar. The Rheno-Silesia Wismar country team still exists as an active connection and was able to reactivate itself in Heilbronn. Your constant is the old wine press (Auf dem Bau 6 in Heilbronn Sontheim), now Landsmannschaft Rheno-Silesia Wismar zu Heilbronn.
