List of Portuguese ambassadors in the Marshall Islands

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of Portuguese ambassadors in the Marshall Islands lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in the Marshall Islands . The two states established direct diplomatic relations after the Marshallese independence in 1990.

Portugal then did not open its own embassy in the Marshall Islands, the Portuguese ambassador to the Philippines was initially also responsible for them. Since the closure of the Portuguese embassy in the Philippine capital Manila in 2012, the Marshall Islands have belonged to the administrative district of the Portuguese ambassador to Australia . To do this, he is double-accredited in the Marshallese capital Majuro . So far, however, no Portuguese representative has been accredited there (as of 2019).
