List of turkeys

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of turkeys includes names of various breeds and colors of turkey . The same races can appear more than once if they are known by different names. Based on the list of European poultry breeds and their colors (as of 2012) of the European Association for Poultry, Pigeon, Bird, Rabbit and Cavia Breeding (EE), all turkey breeds recognized in the European breeding associations are listed here with their origin indicated.

The Association of German Poultry Breeders has described the colors of the German turkey in its three weight classes in the poultry standard, which is the leading standard for the EE poultry standard. They are marked with EE because of their inclusion in the European standard . In addition, old turkey breeds that have existed for more than fifty years and have been included in the EE's list of rare breeds are marked.
