The 2001/02 season was the eleventh season of the Lithuanian Ice Hockey League , the highest Lithuanian ice hockey division . Garsu Pasaulis Vilnius became champion for the first time in the club's history .

In the main round, each of the five teams played a total of 16 games. The four best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. SC Energija qualified directly for the playoff final . Each team received three points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
