The journal LiteraturNachrichten is dedicated to literatures in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Arab world. It reports on literary and cultural developments and “literary politics” in non-European countries and contains literary texts, portraits of and conversations with authors and translators, reviews and reading recommendations.

The publisher is litprom . The editor in charge is Anita Djafari.

history

For 24 years, from 1983 to 2016, the LiteraturNachrichten appeared as an independent journal, from 1983 to 2013 quarterly and from 2014 to 2016 every six months. It could be obtained by subscription (last cost: 25 euros / year). Their appearance was made possible by grants from the Evangelical Development Service (EED).

In 2017, the LiteraturNachrichten were converted into a four-page supplement for the daily newspaper taz . As such, it appeared quarterly in 2017 and 2018, and since 2019 it has been published every six months.
