Lithium titanate

Lithium titanates are mixed oxides of lithium and titanium . They belong to the group of titanates and are ceramic-like solids. The following mixed oxides in particular are referred to as lithium titanates:

• The lithium titanate Lithium titanium spinel Li ₄ Ti ₅ O ₁₂ , an oxide with a spinel structure that serves as a lithium storage material on the cathode of lithium titanate batteries .
• The monoclinic lithium metatitanate Li ₂ TiO ₃ (dilithium titanium oxide), the z. B. is used as an additive for porcelain glazes.

There are other lithium titanium oxides such. B. those that are derived from rutile or anatase .
