Little Lisa Dixie (actually Lisa Distin) is an American country singer and songwriter who released her first CD in 2011.
Life
Little Lisa Dixie sees herself as a proletarian, slightly coarse revenant of the country singer Loretta Lynn , who she often covers at concerts . She moves between rockabilly , country & western and honky tonk . Other role models besides Lynn are Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton .
The songs by Little Lisa Dixie mostly follow the traditional structures that also determined many of the songs of their role models - they are surprisingly classic songs in astonishing quality. On the influential homepage Savingcountrymusic , which is committed to the preservation of traditional, original and lively music, especially from various country subgenres, her CD is rated as one of the outstanding releases of 2011 - and she herself is praised as an exceptional singer and author. The extremely heavily tattooed artist now lives in Austin , Texas . Occasionally she also performs with Dale Watson .
