Important expressions of Spanish life were the restaurants La Bilbaína, Trocadero Valencia, Bar Coruña, Little Spain Bar, Café Madrid, Mesón Flamenco or El Faro Restaurant, founded in 1927, and still in operation today at 823 Greenwich St. The Iberia was a famous Spanish restaurant Clothing store.

The heart of the Spanish-American community was the Spanish Benevolent Society and the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe .

Similar to other ethnically dominated districts of Manhattan, such as Little Italy , Little Spain had its own festival, the Festival of James the Elder . It took place in June until the mid-1990s.
