Liu Guozhong

Liu Guozhong ( Chinese  刘国 中 ; born July 1962 in Wangkui , Heilongjiang Province ) is a Chinese politician and the current governor of Shaanxi . He began his career in Heilongjiang Province before joining the All China Trade Union Confederation and serving as the Sichuan Party's deputy leader. He was briefly governor of Jilin in 2017 .

Life

Liu was born in Wangkui District, Heilongjiang Province. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in November 1986. He attended the Nanjing Institute of Technology , where he specialized in the design and manufacture of artillery systems and graduated from the Harbin Institute of Technology .

Liu began his political career in the Heilongjiang Provincial Government. He served as deputy director of the research department and party leader of Hegang . He became a member of the Standing Committee of the Heilongjiang Provincial Party in 2011, was promoted to General Secretary of the Party Committee in May of the same year, and to Lieutenant Governor of Heilongjiang in September 2011.

In October 2013, Liu was appointed a member of the Secretariat of the All China Trade Union Confederation.

In February 2016, he was transferred to the position of deputy party chief of Sichuan. He served ten months before being transferred to Jilin to become acting governor. This was confirmed by the Provincial People's Congress on January 19, 2017.

In December 2017, he was appointed deputy party chief of Shaanxi. He was later appointed governor.
