Hegang ( Chinese  鹤岗 市 , Pinyin Hègǎng Shì ) is a district-free city in the northeast Chinese province of Heilongjiang with around 1.04 million inhabitants (end of 2015; 2010 census: 1,058,665). It has an area of ​​14,784 km² (population density: 75.08 inhabitants / km²).

Administrative structure

At the district level, Hegang is made up of six city districts and two districts. These are:

  • Xingshan District (Xìngshān Qū 兴 山区), 27 km², 50,000 inhabitants;
  • Xiangyang City District (Xiàngyáng Qū 向阳 区), 8.2 km², 100,000 inhabitants (2004);
  • Gongnong district (Gōngnóng Qū 工农 区), 11 km², 170,000 inhabitants;
  • Nanshan District (Nánshān Qū 南山 区), 30 km², 130,000 inhabitants;
  • Xing'an District (Xīng'ān Qū 兴安 区), 27 km², 150,000 inhabitants; and
  • Dongshan district (Dōngshān Qū 东山 区), 4,575 km², 90,000 inhabitants;
  • Luobei district (Luóběi Xiàn 萝北 县), 6,761 km², 230,000 inhabitants, main town: Fengxiang municipality (凤翔 镇); and
  • Suibin district (Suíbīn Xiàn 绥滨县), 3,344 km², 190,000 inhabitants, main town: Suibin municipality (绥 滨 镇).
