Jixi ( Chinese  鸡西 市 , Pinyin Jīxī Shì ) is a district-free city in the east of the Chinese province of Heilongjiang , the northernmost province of northeast China .

The city ​​of Jixi is located on Muling He . Its center is about 100 km west of the 4,400 km² large Chankasee , which is on the border between China and Russia .

Administrative structure

Jixi has a total area of ​​23,040 km² and around 1.84 million inhabitants (end of 2015). As a district-free city, Jixi is made up of six districts, two independent cities and one district:
