The Muling He ( Chinese 穆稜 河 / 穆棱 河 , Pinyin Mùlíng Hé ; Russian Мулинхэ ) is a left tributary of the Ussuri in the northeast of the People's Republic of China .
The Muling He has its source on the border of the two Chinese provinces of Jilin and Heilongjiang . It flows mainly in a northerly direction. Later it turns east and runs north of Lake Chankas . Finally it flows into the Ussuri at the Russian-Chinese border. The large cities of Muling , Lishu , Jiguan , Jixi and Hulin lie on the course of the Muling He.
Its length is 577 km, the catchment area covers 18,500 km².
The Muling He area was the site of the Sino-Soviet border conflict in 1929 when fighting broke out between the Red and Kwantung armies .
