economy
Heihe is of great importance as a trade center, trade with Russia in particular plays an important role. Together with Blagoveshchensk , Heihe forms a free trade zone . The distance between Heihe and Blagoveschensk is approx. 1 km across the border river Amur and is handled by ferries. In recent years, Heihe has gained importance as a winter test region for the Chinese automotive industry. Companies such as Continental , TRW Automotive or VW China have their Chinese cold test sites here .
traffic
After three years of construction , the first Russian-Chinese highway bridge across Heilong Jiang ( Amur ) was completed at the end of November 2019 . It is a two-lane cable-stayed bridge around one kilometer long , which is part of a 20 km long motorway on both sides of the border. To amortize the financing of the bridge , tolls will be charged for 16 years .
A cable car for pedestrians and tourists is in preparation , which will connect Heihe and Blagoveschensk with a travel time of a few minutes. The cable car is to be equipped with four cabins, each with a capacity for 60 passengers.
Culture
Worth seeing is the historical city of Aigun (瑷 31), 31 km from the city center of Heihe , today's large community of Aihui (爱辉 镇). There the Treaty of Aigun between the Chinese Empire and the Russian Empire was signed in 1858 . 250 km away from the center of Heihe is the Wudalianchi lake area, a scenic area that is considered a spa region.
