Liu Zhang (Warlord)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Liu Zhang (劉璋) (* before 194; † 219 in China ) was the governor of the Yi Province and a relative of Liu Beis .

After he refused to hand over the province to Liu Bei, war broke out between the two of them. When Liu Bei stood in front of the capital Chengdu in 214, Liu Zhang surrendered to him in order to spare the people and leave the country to the stronger. Many of his generals from then on served Liu Bei, including Fa Zheng . Few generals were loyal to him ( Zhang Ren committed suicide ).
