Live & Uppity is Saffire's first live album - The Uppity Blues Women . After a number of successful albums and numerous acclaimed live performances, it was natural that a live album would finally follow. On the album they mixed tried and true numbers with new material. Her basic feminist attitude is also clear, especially in the new song 1-800-799-7233 , which Gay Adegbalola dedicated to her friend. This phone number is the National Domestic Violence Hot Line , which provides advice on domestic violence in the United States .
