Livia Ana Tătaru

Livia Ana Tătar , also known as Ana Tătaru (born July 15, 1927 , Bistrița , Romania ; † June 2018 ), was a linguist specializing in phonetics , phonology and lexicology .

Career

She studied at the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj, where she was also a university teacher between 1957 and 1970. Due to massive persecution for political reasons, she stayed in West Germany in 1970. In 1975 she received her doctorate as Dr. Phil. At the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn .

Tătaru was a professor at the Romance Department of the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Mannheim from 1983 to 1988 .
