Lizandro Chavez Alfaro
Lizandro Chávez Alfaro (born October 25, 1929 in Bluefields , Nicaragua , † April 9, 2006 in Managua ) was a Nicaraguan writer.
Life
Chávez Alfaro attended an agricultural school, which he left early. In 1948 he settled in Mexico and studied painting at the San Carlos Academy . He then worked as a translator and varnisher . In 1950 he was one of the founders of the Revolutionary Front Sandino . In 1960 he accompanied the Mexican National Ballet to Cuba .
As a writer, he wrote stories, poems and essays and expanded Nicaraguan literature to include topics from the English-influenced region of the Caribbean coast, populated by the descendants of black slaves.
