Lyubomir Widenow
Ljubomir Widenow (also written Lubomir Videnov , Bulgarian Любомир Виденов ; born August 29, 1951 in Sofia ) is a Bulgarian baritone . The conductor Boian Videnoff is his son.
Life
He graduated from the Sofia Music Academy with Blagowesta Karnobatlowa. He then studied singing with Tito Gobbi in Rome and with Giulietta Simionato , Luciano Silvestri, Edoardo Müller, Maestri Mantovani, Rosa and Beltrami at the Scuola di perfezionamento per Artisti Lirici in Milan at the Teatro alla Scala . For ten years he was engaged as the first baritone at the National Opera Sofia and took on leading roles.
Widenow worked u. a. as a partner of Giuseppe Di Stefano , José Carreras , Leonie Rysanek , Gena Dimitrowa, Nikolaj Gjaurow , Paata Burchuladze at the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Teatro la Fenice di Venezia, Teatro Massimo di Palermo as well as theaters in Alessandria, Cremona, Messina, Mantova.
He is the winner of international competitions:

- Viotti (Vercelli, 1981)
- 8th International Competition for Young Opera Singers (Sofia, 1984)
