The Llano Point ( English , Polish Przylądek Llano ) is a towering headland on the south coast of King George Island in the group of the South Shetland Islands . On the west bank of Admiralty Bay , it lies south of Suszczewski Cove .
The American ornithologists Wayne Trivelpiece and Nick Volkmann named it after the American biologist and specialist in polar lichen George Albert Llano (1911–2003), among other things program director for biological and medical research of the National Science Foundation from 1960 to 1977.
