Loïc Mallié

Loïc Mallié (* 1947 in La Baule-Escoublac ) is a French organist and composer.

In addition to studying philosophy and law, Mallié completed a musical education at the Rennes Conservatory. There he received first prize in the organ class in 1968. Then he went to the Conservatoire de Paris . Here he studied with Jeanine Rueff , Henriette Puig-Roget and Marcel Bitsch and attended the organ class of Olivier Messiaen . Here he received first prizes in the subjects of harmony (1974), counterpoint (1975), improvisation (1978) and organ (1979). He also won first prizes for piano improvisation in Lyon (1977) and organ improvisation in Lyon (1979) and Chartres (1982).

Since 1980 Mallié has taught composition, music analysis and improvisation at the Lyon Conservatory and the San Sebastian Music Academy. Since the mid-1970s he has been the organist of the large Cavaillé-Coll organ in the Saint Peter church in Neuilly. In 1989 he became organist at Saint-Pothin in Lyon. On concert tours he performed a. a. in Germany, Italy, Iceland, Poland, Norway, Great Britain and Canada.

In February 2011 Loïc Mallié was appointed titular organist of the main organ of the parish church of La Trinité in Paris.

Mallié composed organ and piano works, chamber music as well as orchestral and choral works.
