Marcel Bitsch
Marcel Bitsch (born December 29, 1921 in Paris ; † September 21, 2011 there ) was a French composer .
Life
Bitsch studied from 1939 at the Conservatoire de Paris with Jean Gallon harmony, with Noël Gallon counterpoint and with Paul-Marie Masson musicology. In 1945 he won the Prix de Rome . From 1956 he was professor of counterpoint at the Conservatoire.
He composed a comic opera , a ballet , symphonic and chamber music works as well as numerous instrumental pieces for the music competitions at the Conservatoire. He also published several musicological works.
