Loch Dùghaill (also called Loch Doule or Loch Doughaill ) is a freshwater lake in the Scottish Highlands . It is located about eight kilometers northeast of Loch Carron and about one kilometer northwest of the village of Balnacra in Glen Carron .
The lake is about 2.2 km long and about 500 m wide. It is traversed by the River Carron , which flows into the Scottish Sea as Loch Carron . There are no towns or settlements on the shores of the lake. On the north-west bank, however, both the A890 and the Kyle of Lochalsh Line , a railway line, both of which lead to Kyle of Lochalsh . About 500 m from the north bank is the Achnashellach Rail Station , which is served several times a day by First ScotRail trains. Accordingly, the lake is easy to reach.
