Lochan Uaine is a Scottish freshwater lake . It is located in the Cairngorm Mountains in the Council Area Aberdeenshire about 10 miles southeast of Aviemore .
Lochan Uaine has a largely oval shape and is around 300 m long and an average of around 170 m wide. The lake is at an altitude of 953 meters, which is higher than almost all other Scottish lakes. The banks of Lochan Uaine are completely uninhabited and appear entirely as grassland. The lake is located in the Cairngorms National Park and is a destination for hikers.
