Loewe Island is a 1.1 km long island off the east coast of Adelaide Island west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located around 2.5 km north of Mothes Point in the entrance to Grosswald Bay . It is separated from the shore of the bay by a 1 km wide canal.

It was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 2017. It is named after the German meteorologist, glaciologist and polar researcher Fritz Loewe (1895–1974), who participated in the third Greenland expedition (1930–1931) of the German polar researcher and geoscientist Alfred Wegener .
