Lois Delaner
Lois Eleanor Delaner (born February 14, 1911 in Joliet , Illinois , † 1985 in a suburb of Chicago , Illinois) was the seventh Miss America in 1927 .
Lois Delaner was born in Joliet on Valentine's Day , went to junior high school and attended the Chicago School of Industrial Art , where she learned piano and classical ballet. She had also won a musical competition and one on Bible verses. She won the Miss America title on her parents' 20th wedding anniversary. Having no interest in a film or stage career after winning the title, she soon returned home and continued studying.
After college , she married the stockbroker Ralph Lang, with whom she had three daughters. Lois was the grandmother of seven grandchildren and lived in the Chicago suburbs until her death in 1985 at the age of 74.
