The local line Daudleb – Rokitnitz (Czech: Místní dráha Doudleby – Vamberk – Rokytnice ) was a private local railway in today's Czech Republic . The route leads from Doudleby nad Orlicí via Vamberk to Rokytnice v Orlických horách ( Rokitnitz in the Eagle Mountains ).

history

On December 27, 1904, the concession to build and operate a standard-gauge local train from the next to the Daudleb passenger stop on the Prague-Mittelwalde line was granted to the newly built connection station Daudleb via Wamberg to Rokitnitz . The route was opened on October 15, 1906.

The operation was carried out by the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB) on behalf of the Daudleb – Rokitnitz local railway . After the First World War, the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD took the place of the kkStB .

On January 1, 1925, the Daudleb – Rokitnitz local railway was nationalized by law and the line was integrated into the ČSD network.

After the annexation of the Sudetenland to Germany in the autumn of 1938, part of the route was on German territory. Since there was no direct connection to other German routes, the entire route remained in operation of the now Protectorate Railways Bohemia and Moravia (ČMD-BMB).

The current timetable for 2008 lists a total of 9 pairs of trains running daily over the entire route, some of which are connected to and from Týniště nad Orlicí .

Vehicle use

On account of the Daudleb – Rokitnitz local railway , the kkStB procured two class 97 locomotives . The locomotives had the road numbers 97.195 and 196.
