LC-A ( Lomo Kompakt Automat ) is the name of a small picture - Sucherkamera the company Lomo . It was introduced in 1984 and is based on the CX-2 model from the Japanese company Cosina . This camera became very well known because it was named after the Lomography style of photography .
construction
For a long period from 1984 to 2005, the LC-A was manufactured almost unchanged, only small details were changed. So was z. B. the display of the set focus area in the viewfinder is no longer built into later models.
Furnishing
The LC-A has an automatic program that measures the brightness with a cadmium sulfide photoresistor . The shutter works electromechanically, the shutter speeds are set continuously. The automatic program is set via the aperture adjuster to position "A". A special feature is that the shutter speed is calculated while the shutter is still opening and so the shutter speed is shortened or lengthened if the light situation changes.
The focus is done using a lever that clicks into place in four positions, 0.8 m, 1.5 m, 3 m and infinite, older models show the selected setting in the viewfinder.
There are two LEDs in the viewfinder that display the following information when the shutter button is pressed halfway: The left lights up when the batteries have enough power, the right lights up when an exposure time of longer than 1/30 of a second is expected.
The aperture can be selected manually, but the shutter speed is fixed at 1/60 of a second.
When using a flash unit, the shutter speed is also set to 1/60 second.
The Lomo LC-A was delivered in a rectangular plastic box, the lower part is black, the upper part is transparent. This contained a wrist strap and operating instructions next to the camera.
Lomography cameras
After the production of the Lomo LC-A was finally stopped in 2005, Lomography began to have adapted versions of the LC-A manufactured in China.
Lomo LC-A +
The first model of these cameras manufactured by Lomography was the Lomo LC-A + . The first copies of the LC-A + still had the Minitar-1 optics from Lomo (marketed as LC-A Russian Lens), later models also have a lens made in China.
The most important changes from the LC-A + to the LC-A from Lomo are:
- Switch on the underside of the camera for creating multiple exposures
- Connection for a cable remote release
- ISO range from 100 to 1600
- Loss of manual aperture selection
- On the front there was now a notch to mount a wide angle adapter or a ring flash.
- The rear wall of the camera can be replaced with an optional rear wall for Fujifilm Instax Mini films.
Lomo LC-Wide
In 2011 Lomography introduced a further development based on the LC-A +, the LC-Wide . It is characterized above all by the Minigon super wide-angle lens with 17 mm focal length and an f / 4.5 aperture. Another unique selling point was the ability to choose from 3 different recording formats: normal pictures with a size of 36 × 24 mm, square pictures with a size of 24 × 24 mm and half-format pictures with a size of 17 × 24 mm. In addition, the zone focus has been adjusted: There are only 2 settings: 40-80 cm and 80 cm to infinity.
Lomo LC-A 120
In 2014, Lomography presented the LC-A 120 , a medium format camera that is optically and technically similar to the LC-A + . It has a 38 mm f / 4.5 Minigon lens (21 mm 35mm equivalent ).
