Loncin (motorcycle)
Loncin (Loncin industrial Group Co., Ltd), founded in 1993, is a Chinese manufacturer of engines , motorcycles and quads based in Chongqing , China .
Loncin was founded in 1993 and has been building internal combustion engines for various uses since 1996 . The first motorcycle model was launched in 1999. Loncin motorcycles were used by the Vietnamese police as early as 2000 . In 2006, Loncin was the largest Chinese motorcycle exporter. The company employs over 5,000 people and is one of the largest motor and two-wheeler manufacturers in China. Approx. 200 employees work on product development in a modern research and development center.
The product range includes now over one hundred models, among other things, motor-assisted bicycles , mopeds , scooters , bikes , motorcycles and quads with displacements to 300 cm³ . In addition, air- and water-cooled two- and four-stroke engines between 40 and 300 cm³ are produced, mainly for use in two-wheelers, but also for lawnmowers , chain saws and other purposes. Among other things, Loncin produces the single-cylinder engines with a displacement of around 650 cm³ for BMW Motorrad GmbH and, since 2018, also the in-line two-cylinder F-series from 853 cm³ displacement, their predecessors with approx. 700 and 800 cm³ for BMW still at Rotax in Austria had been made.
Loncin was involved with a works team in the 125 cm³ class of the motorcycle world championship in the 2008 and 2009 seasons .
