Michael Iwanowski (born June 6, 1948 in Hindenburg ) is a German publisher and tour operator.

Ivanovsky studied psychology , education and geography . He initially worked as a teacher and has been an independent publisher and tour operator since 1987. From a young age Iwanowski frequently traveled to Namibia and collected information about the country, which he then sorted into a loose-leaf collection . He also offered this collection to friends for whom he was planning trips to Namibia. When Namibia's independence became apparent in the early 1980s, more and more political delegations went to Namibia. Since there were no travel guides , the Foreign Office became aware of Ivanovsky's information brochures and ordered 300 pieces. Thus the first travel guide was created and the travel book publishing house for individual travelers was founded in 1983. Today (as of July 2019) the publishing house has an assortment of around 90 travel guides.

In addition to “Iwanowski's Reisebuchverlag”, Iwanowski is the owner of “Iwanowski's individual travel”, which organizes trips to southern and eastern Africa , and the software company “awato”.

Michael Iwanowski is married and has one son. He lives in Dormagen and Florida .
