Paula Roth
Paula Roth (* July 12, 1918 as Pauline Roth in Güttingen ; † April 18, 1988 in Filisur in Switzerland ) grew up on Lake Constance in the canton of Thurgau . From 1965 until her murder in the spring of 1988 she was the owner and landlady of the Bellaluna inn in the Albula valley in the canton of Graubünden .
She also made a name for herself as a storyteller, healer and artist. In 1988 three men took advantage of the remote location of the Bellaluna and broke into the inn. When the landlady caught one of the thieves, she was fatally wounded with several knife stabs. The killer and his accomplices were caught and sentenced to long prison terms.
The life of Paula Roth was filmed in 2009 by Kuno Bont under the title The dazzling landlady - Bal a l'üna, life and death of the outsider Paula Roth .
