The London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) is a private business school based in London specializing in business and finance. The LSBF offers numerous bachelor's and master's degrees in management, business administration and finance, as well as various advanced training courses and professional qualifications, such as ACCA , CFA , CIM and CIMA. LSBF's academic courses are accredited by recognized colleges and universities such as the Grenoble Graduate Business School, the University of Bradford and the University of Central Lancashire.

LSBF has two campuses in central London and others in Manchester , Birmingham , Toronto and Singapore . The LSBF has made it its mission to closely combine academic aspirations with direct career orientation.

In September 2010, Professor James Kirkbride was appointed Vice Rector of LSBF, while Professor Alfred Morris was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2011. HRH Prince Michael of Kent assumed the role of the royal patron .

history

It was founded in 2003 by Aaron Etingen. Initially, the business school only offered accounting and finance courses as well as continuing education courses and professional qualifications such as ACCA and CIMA. Over the years the LSBF has developed a number of partnerships with leading higher education institutions to offer Bachelor and Master degrees.

The business school has campuses in London, Birmingham and Manchester. The first international campus opened in February 2011 in Toronto, Canada. In June 2011 the LSBF established its second international campus in Singapore. This new campus is the first and only UK business school in Asia. Accounting programs and professional qualifications can be selected at the Singapore and Toronto campuses.

LSBF offers a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as professional qualifications, in partnership with the Grenoble Graduate School of Business, the University of Bradford and the University of Central Lancashire. Academic collaborations include partnerships with Shanghai University and CL Educate, an educational institution in India.

In 2010 the business school developed an application ("LSBF Global MBA") on Facebook . This Facebook application enables all users to have hundreds of hours of free study materials - including 80 hours of high definition videos. The “LSBF Global MBA” is the first online master’s degree to be offered worldwide on Facebook in the special modality “first try, then buy”. Therefore, students of the LSBF Global MBA can view the offer first and then pay for the academic degree.

In April 2012, the LSBF entered into an academic partnership with the London Metropolitan University. Therefore, the UK and international students have had the opportunity to choose the London Metropolitan University validated Bachelor and Masters programs as well as professional qualifications on the LSBF campus in England. In December 2012 it was mutually agreed that this partnership should be dissolved. London Metropolitan University and LSBF have published the following press release: “Although much has been achieved with this academic collaboration, both institutions agree that the foundations of the partnership are no longer in line with today's changes in the education sector. The LSBF Group includes the London School of Business and Finance, the London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA), the e-learning platform InterActive, the Finance Business Training (FBT), the School of Fashion and Design (SFDLondon), the LSBF School of English and St Patrick's College London.

Programs

The LSBF works with the Grenoble Graduate School of Business to offer two-year master's programs - 2 year MBA, 2 year MSc in Finance, MSc Fashion, Design and Luxury Management Master and MIB (Master in International Business), as well as the three-year Bachelor program in International Business to offer.

The MBA students have the opportunity to combine this Masters degree with a professional qualification such as ACCA , CFA and CIMA.

In partnership with the London Metropolitan University, the LSBF offers a wide range of bachelor's and master's programs as well as professional qualifications - including MBA Global, MSc Finance & Investment, BSc Business Management, Diplomas in Accounting & Finance and Strategic & Financial Management.

The master's degree in business law, the LL.M. in International Business Law, offered in partnership with Bradford University, a prestigious UK university. LSBF's language school, the School of English, is also recognized by the British Council and works with English UK, the association of language teachers in Great Britain.

The international students who are not from the European Union have the opportunity to opt for undergraduate degree programs offered in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). The Bachelor programs include: Bachelors in Business Administration, Bachelors in Accounting & Financial Studies and LL.B.

Online programs

LSBF offers a wide variety of online programs through its InterActive study platform: MBA, Masters in Finance, Masters in Marketing, as well as professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CFA and over 20 online postgraduate certificates. Students have online classrooms, discussion forums, and a wide range of information sources such as high-definition video lectures, 24-hour technical support, an online library, and Harvard Business School case studies.

With the rise of social networks like Facebook, the LSBF developed two applications in 2010: an ACCA Preparation Center, whose study materials are aimed at the students of the ACCA, and the above-mentioned LSBF Global MBA, the first master's degree available on Facebook in the special “try first, then buy” modality is offered worldwide. Both applications have high quality study materials that are available for free.

LSBF Global MBA students can pay for the academic degree. Both applications have received media coverage in the UK and internationally: LSBF Global MBA was featured in New York Times, Reuters and Bloomberg, while the ACCA Preparation Center was named Study Source of the Year by PQ Magazine in February 2011.

Classification

In June 2011, the Master in Finance, offered by the LSBF in partnership with the Grenoble Graduate School of Business, was voted sixth in the Financial Times Rankings.

The GGSB Bachelor in International Business (BIB), offered on the LSBF campus in London and on the GGSB campus in Grenoble, ranks fifth among the top bachelor programs in France. This classification was made by the French newspaper Le Figaro .

The GGSB's MIB (Master in International Business) was ranked 9th in the Financial Times Rankings. This ranking classifies the best international master’s programs in international business.

Scholarships

Prince Michael of Kent supports students from developing countries with scholarships. Another scholarship program includes a company-related support program that connects students with employers, and a special support line for women in business professions that supports the training of the managers of tomorrow.

There are also other scholarship programs offered by the Rector and Vice Rector.

Guest lectures

David Blunkett, the former Cabinet Secretary and current Secretary of Education of the UK, gave a guest lecture at LSBF in July 2011.

The presentation took place on campus at Marble Arch and focused on leadership in organizations and the qualities required for a successful career path.

In 2012, on behalf of the LSBF, David Blukett interviewed Tony Blair, former UK Prime Minister, about education in the UK.

In December 2011, Prince Michael of Kent presented the inaugural lecture of a new annual series of lectures in partnership with the Royal Society of Arts (RSA). The guest speaker, Lord Digby Jones, is the Director General of CBI and former Secretary of State for Trade and Investment.

The LSBF in the media

In October 2011 the television program BBC3 broadcast a documentary report on the LSBF - School of English - language school. The documentary was about a group of young people who moved to the UK to begin their dream careers. One of the students had taken an LSBF language course that prepared him for an important job interview.

In December 2011, Jo Brand - the comedian who won BAFTA - visited the LSBF campus. She and the production company met and interviewed a group of business students. The interview appeared on BBC4 in February 2012.

In March 2012, the program was featured on the Global MBA Facebook page in an article in The Guardian. The article was about the use of the technology in education.

Valery Kisilevsky, the managing director of LSBF Group, was interviewed by Bloomberg Business Week about the 360 ​​° program. Kisilevsky explained the rationale for the groundbreaking program and its job guarantee.
