The C69 or C77 floor was a series of electric multiple units on the lines C ircle Line , the Hammersmith & City line and the District line of the London Underground were used. The number after the C indicates the planned commissioning in 1969 (first series) and 1977 (second series). The units of the C Stock are large-profile trains for the large-profile routes. The C series is similar to the A series, which was built around the same time, because of its intended use on inner-city routes, especially the Circle Line, there are more doors in comparison and only longitudinal seats for a higher proportion of standing room. In contrast to most other large-profile designs, the C series has symmetrical car ends, which can be freely coupled. A preferred orientation of asymmetrical wagon ends with control lines laid on one side is opposed to operation on the ring line. In the C series there are only railcars with a driver's cab ("Driving Motor Car", DM) and sidecar ("Trailer Car", T).

Between January 2013 and June 2014, the series was replaced by the new S Stock cars . A farewell tour for this series was organized on June 29, 2014. Only two cars from the C77 Stock have been preserved: car 5701 was donated to the Royal Greenwich University Technical College, car 5721 was given to the London Transport Museum .
