London Court (Kempten)
The Londoner Hof (formerly Biechteler Haus ) is a listed building in rococo style in the independent city of Kempten . It is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in Kempten's old town and has the address Rathausplatz 2 .
history
The building was built in 1764 by the merchant and mayor Johann Christoph Fehr as a patrician palace. The client has immortalized himself with his coat of arms in the gable of the facade. In 1827 the house was converted into a hotel and renamed the Hotel and Albergo Londoner Hof . In 1885 the house was bought by an iron trading family and served as a commercial building.

The house is located between Rathausplatz and St. Mang-Platz . The four-storey facade is painted golden yellow and has a striking portal by Emanuel Seidl . Inside there is a yellow staircase with a golden, wrought-iron railing . The ceiling is decorated with rosettes .
