London Conference (1959)
At the London Conference from February 17 to 19, 1959 , the situation on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus was the subject of negotiations between Great Britain , Greece and Turkey . It was agreed that Cyprus would gain independence in one year and the basic features of a constitution for the new state were laid down.
