Long Island (from English long , long, wide ' ) is a 5 km long, 800 m wide and northeast-southwest facing island off the east coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located in the Prince Gustav Canal opposite the mouth of the Russell East Glacier and 3 km south of the Trinity Peninsula .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey discovered, mapped, and named them in 1945.
