Loren D. Calaway

Loren D. Calaway (* 1950 in Fresno ) is an American sculptor .

life and work

Loren D. Calaway holds a Masters degree from California State University, Fresno . Concept artist Terry Allen had a significant influence on his work.

Calaway's sculptures are made of wood, brass and cloth. They are reminiscent of consoles, tables and other office furniture, but are not functional as such. Calaway gave his works no titles, but provided them with small brass plates on which small drawings or etchings can be seen. In 1982 works by Calaway were shown at documenta 7 in Kassel.
