Lorenz Landl

Lorenz Landl (born May 4, 1938 in Rohrbach near Mattersburg ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and state official. Landl was mayor of the market town Rohrbach bei Mattersburg from 1972 to 1982 and from 1982 to 1996 member of the Burgenland state parliament .

Life

Landl was born as the son of the municipal servant Lorenz Landl from Rohrbach and attended the secondary school in Mattersburg after primary school in Rohrbach. He then learned the trade of bricklayer, passed the journeyman's examination and enlisted in the army on October 1, 1957, where he initially performed his military service. After that he was active as a military musician in Eisenstadt for seven years, where he passed several service exams and in 1964 the B-Matura . On March 1, 1965, he transferred to the Burgenland Provincial Service and became a civil servant at the Eisenstadt-Umgebung District Commission , in 1977 he moved to the Agricultural Department of the Burgenland Provincial Government, whereby the professional title of Amtsrat was awarded in 1979 .

Landl founded the Rohrbach youth band in 1976 and passed the Kapellmeister examination in 1977.

politics

He was politically active from 1967 as the local party leader of the ÖVP-Rohrbach and was elected to the local council in 1968. In 1972 he was promoted to mayor . After being sworn in as a member of the state parliament on July 5, 1982, Landl retired in 1982 to the position of Vice Mayor, where he held this office until 1989. On June 27, 1996, he left the state parliament. Afterwards he was active as district chairman of the ÖVP senior citizens' association.
