Lorenz Manthey

Lorenz Louis William Manthey (born March 29, 1983 in Hamburg ) is a former German basketball player . The 1.90 meter tall player played a total of nine games for Hamburg and Braunschweig in the basketball league and was a junior national player.

career

Manthey played in the youth team of BCJ Hamburg and made his debut for the Hanseatic League in the basketball league during the 2000/2001 season . After relegation to the 2nd basketball division , he also played for Hamburg in the 2001/2002 season before moving to the Bundesliga club TXU Energie Braunschweig in 2002 . He played seven Bundesliga games for Lower Saxony and scored an average of 2.4 points per game. In addition, he was eligible to play for Braunschweig's cooperation partner SG Braunschweig and was one of the best basket shooters in the 2nd Bundesliga.

In 2003 Manthey moved to the University of Pennsylvania . In the 2003/2004 season he had to sit out because he was not allowed to play by the NCAA , then made his debut in January 2005, completed eight games for "Penn" in 2004/2005 and scored a total of two points. Shortly after the start of the 2005/2006 season, during the preparation of which he was injured, he left the team to concentrate on his studies. This ended his performance basketball career.

Professionally, he worked in the financial sector in London .

National team

Manthey played five games for the German junior national team during the elimination round for the 1999 European Cadet Championship and scored an average of 10.6 points per game. Also in the following year he came to international matches.
