Lorenzo Sanguedolce

Lorenzo Sanguedolce (born January 28, 1975 ) is an American tenor saxophonist of modern creative jazz .

Before coming to New York, Lorenzo Sanguedolce lived in Milan for six years , where he worked with the pianist and composer Paolo Ferrari, and in the performance group Mass Construction , which he worked with the dancer Stefania Kea Tonetti and the painter Roberto Tivi Tavi Papini had founded. In 2009 he released his debut album Live at the Yippie , on which bassist Michael Bisio participated. In addition to his quartet with David Arner (piano), François Grillot (double bass) and Todd Capp (drums), he leads a trio with Adam Caine and John Wagner; he also works on projects with alto saxophonist Nick Lyons and bassist Adam Lane . He is also a member of the New York Soundpainting Orchestra and Eric Eigner's Mysterium Electric Soundpainting Septet . In the course of his career so far he has also played with artists such as Karl Berger , Ratzo Harris , Connie Crothers , John Zorn , Ken Filiano , Richard Tabnik , Lou Grassi and Barry Altschul . Sanguedolce, who participated in three recording sessions until 2011, lives and works in Brooklyn .
