Lorenzo Vazquez

Lorenzo Vazquez (* probably in Segovia ; † around 1509 in Valladolid ) was a Spanish architect .

Vazquez was likely born in Segovia and was the first to use Italian Renaissance elements in Spanish architecture . From 1489 he served Cardinal Pedro González de Mendoza first in the College of Santa Cruz in Valladolid and then in Guadalajara and elsewhere. His transitional style was still characterized by Gothic elements.
